The Tarobo is the shrine、is at Yokaichi of Shiga-Prefecture. According to legend that the shrine was opened about 1400 years ago. It was erected on the mountain, named Akagami-yama, it is 350 meter above sea level; the shrine is on the south side slope of the mountain. The mountain is north of the Tarobo-mae-eki station of Oumi-line, it about 10 minutes walk from there. We can see the building at the middle high place of the mountain, which was covered by the rock on the surface, from south area of there. I often hear, many people misunderstand that the building is school or hospital、it is the main building of the shrine and the God was enshrined at the upper part building. To be sure, it is difficult to understand, only by the method that it is seeing from far.
The first photo was taken two weeks before, below photo was taken last Saturday.
I could take the photo on two different days; we can see that during the one week, the leaf color was changed to more colorful.
We had to go up the steep stairs to approach the God house; there were very hard steps, which were covered with many torii. 740 steps were. There was a side road and we could approach middle mountain area by car, but I tried to walk.. To get feeling about atmosphere of the autumn mountain; and I could see many beautiful views, and I got many good photos, but it was really tough job. And when I got to top of the stairs ,also I got really comfortable feeling.

Most famous place of the shrine is the big rock, which is called “ Miyoto-iwa.” After go through the crevice of the rock, we can approach the God house. The crevice is about 12 m long and 30 cm width, it is very narrow. And, we have to do a Shinto rite to exorcize evil spirits by ourselves before worship to God. According to legend, we will get our wish for example business, gambling, and game or something, by the God. Therefore the people visit there when they want to get the win for something, and they pray.
Enshrined God is the long-nosed goblin, is named “Taro-Tengu”; and “ Jiro-Tengu” lives at Kurama-Yama of Kyoto; according to legend, they are brother

Of course, I asked for many things too. On my way home, the radio said that Kyoto aria was crowded with the tourist, it was more busy than commute time. I got really good day of the autumn because, Tarobo was not busy.

Hi,
Tarobo Shrine is called Tarobo-san by the people in the area and is loved very much. Actually, I haven't visited the shrine. You walked up 740 steps. Amazing!

Thanks for your comment.
Tarobo-san is good sound and it is very familiar.
Of course, I got up to the top by foot.
So, it was really difficult to turn back from middle place.
When I took a rest, they served us a cup of Japanese tea in the house of middle place.
After that, I walked again.
It was really good place and no busy.
If I get a chance, I want to visit again.
See you! (^^)/
